Seattle City Council members will host Community Budget Workshops in Delridge, the Central District, University District and Columbia City during May. Councilmembers will gather information about the public’s spending priorities for the 2015-2016 city budget. Members of the public can make suggestions about the specific departments listed for each workshop, as well as identify neighborhood needs and priorities. 

After a City Budget Office presentation, there will be small group discussions with council members and a report back at the end. 

The public is encouraged to drop in during any of the scheduled times to talk about any issues concerning the City budget.

The workshops are as scheduled:

•Human Services/Housing/Economic Development — May 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Rainier Community Center (4600 38th Ave. S.), in its Multipurpose Room;

•Transportation/Land Use — May 7, from 6 to  8 p.m., at Garfield Community Center (2323 E. Cherry St.), in its Multipurpose Room;

•Parks/Neighborhoods/Libraries/Arts — May 8, from 6 to 8 p.m., at University Heights Center (5031 University Way N.E.), in Room 209; and

•Public Safety/Civil Rights — May 14, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center (4408 Delridge Way S.W.), in Room 111.
