Final paving of the on-ramp to the Magnolia Bridge will take place Friday night, Aug. 9, beginning at 7 p.m. The contractor estimates the work will be completed around 10 p.m., but it may take longer. This is the final step to restore the bridge ramps.

Though the sewer line under the bridge was completed in July, the county’s contractor on the new combined sewer overflow (CSO) control facility in the Smith Cove/Terminal 91 area could not complete final paving of the on-ramp to the Magnolia Bridge on July 25.

During paving of the on-ramp, traffic in both directions will detour to the off-ramp. Access to the Smith Cove area, Elliott Bay Marina, Palisade and Maggie Bluffs restaurants via the Magnolia Bridge will be maintained. Travel to and from 15th Avenue West and the Magnolia community will also be maintained.

Detours will be in place on the Magnolia Bridge and off-ramp. Flaggers and signs will direct motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists around the on-ramp closure.

Metro Transit Routes 19, 23, and 33 will maintain regular service.
