BlackRapid Studios is celebrating its opening as a new event studio and workshop at 517 Aloha St. on Queen Anne with Seattle’s James Beard Award-winning chef and “pleasure-activist” Tiberio Simone creating his one-of-a kind, live-model food art on Feb. 9, beginning at 8 p.m.
Guests are welcome to bring cameras and take pictures Simone as he creates of the live-model food art. Attendees can also volunteer to be a model and enjoy complimentary appetizers and desserts made by Simone.
Simone and photographer Matt Freedman, who will also be on hand, created the book “La Figa: Visions of Food & Form,” which won the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Award for best Coffee Table/Photography book.
