The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises travelers that intermittent single-lane closures on the I-5 on-ramps at Mercer Street will begin Tuesday, Jan. 7, for approximately four days (through Friday, Jan. 10) to accommodate hydroseeding along the median.

Work will occur on the north side of the I-5 on-ramp with the far left lane on eastbound Mercer Street closed between Boren Avenue North and onto the I-5 on-ramps at Mercer Street. Two lanes onto the I-5 on-ramps will remain open at all times.

Work hours will be during off-peak travel times from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Also, northbound Fifth Avenue North between Republican and Mercer streets will fully close to traffic during the following weekends in January: Saturday, Jan. 11, through Monday, Jan. 13; and Jan. 18 through Jan. 20.

These closures are to accommodate utility work beneath the roadway. Work is weather-dependent and may be cancelled and rescheduled for later dates if inclement weather occurs.
