Seattle Public Utilities is getting ready to replace the North Transfer Station (1350 N. 34th St.) with a more modern and efficient facility that will meet the growing future needs of the city. 

To prepare for the demolition and rebuild work, the current station will close after 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 20. The new North Transfer Station is expected to open in 2016.
