Viewpoints, the band of the Church of Scientology (300 W. Harrison St.), played a free concert in Westlake Park on Sept. 15 in honor of the U.N. International Day of Peace officially observed Sept. 21 around the world. The band includes Louie Lashlee (front, from left), James Gaines, Moots Ii, Jay Weinstein, Ken Bromberger (back, from left) and Dave Scattergood.

The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by resolution of the U.N. General Assembly to coincide with its opening session.  

In addition to the free concert honoring the Day of Peace, the Church of Scientology made available free copies of L. Ron Hubbard’s “The Way to Happiness” booklets, as well as drug education materials.
